SUYL Baby Showers

Linking up with Kelly for Show Us Your Life

This summer I helped throw TWO baby showers!
Both of my sisters(in-law) Raychal and Andrea were pregnant, and both were waiting to find out the gender!
The were due August 2nd (baby girl August 7th) and October 1st.

Aren't they the cutest little preggos ever?!

We had a surprise sprinkle for my sister Raychal who was having her third!
It was just a few close friends and family. We had chicken and rice, green bean casserole, cherry delight, and some muffins for lunch.

We had some amazing desserts like cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered Oreos, and homemade snickerdoodles!

A month later we had a shower to celebrate with my sister Andrea. Each seat at the table had a packet of seeds as a favor. We had a table set up by the door with different shapes and different color scrapbook paper for everyone to write prayers, thoughts, and blessings for the new family.

The cake was so good!

Andrea's cousin is pregnant too so we had three cute preggos there that day!!

My step-sister Staci handed out patches of fabric to everyone to write a message to the new baby on and she is going to make my sister a quilt that she can give to her baby. She also made one for Ellie and it is the most adorable thing ever. It was so fun to read all the squares when she was finished, I know Ellie will always cherish it and remember how much she is loved and how much we all loved her ever before she was here!

SUYL

Linking up with Kelly for Show Us Your Life: Wedding showers
Mike and I were married February 2, 2008 at our home church.
My mom and MOH Rachel threw me a bridal shower about 2 weeks before the wedding.
It was a pretty usual bridal shower. Table of food, delicious cake, fun games, and lots of family!

Carmel Apple Salad-to die for!

I love my Aunts! We had lots of pink and hearts for decorations.

Two of my bridesmaids. My best friend Andrea and MOH my cousin Rachel.

My wonderful Mother.

A friend of ours took a picture for every gift that I opened so when I sent my thank-you cards I could put a picture of me opening their present with a personal thank-you. I loved the idea! And I have all these pictures to remember my shower and all the presents that we were blessed with!

Baby Shower

My sister's baby shower was so fun! We had pulled pork sandwiches and BBQ chicken (That's what the mama-to-be has been craving) for lunch and i was AHHHHH-MAZING. We also had potato salad, fresh fruit/dip, strawberry/cream cheese salad, and of course cake!
Pretty mommy-to-be
Prayers for the baby and the new parents

My gorgeous Sisters (in law)
Parents-to-be. My brother would be chowing down on some pulled pork while they're opening presents!
Boys!
My sister's cousin is pregnant too! It must be something in the water, I'm going to stay away from whatever well they drink from.

We had such a good time, I can't wait to meet smooch all over the new babies that will be here soon!!!

Busy Busy

I started this off weekend feeling like I was getting strep-throat. Really? REALLY?!?! This was not the time for me to get sick. I had way too much to do this weekend! Luckily after popping some dayquil and drinking a couple glasses of OJ I started to feel much better.

Saturday we went to the wedding of a friend from high school. I graduated with the bride and Mike graduated with the groom. Needless to say it was like a high school reunion...for both of us! The ceremony was outside at their parents house and was H-O-T. HOT. But it was so cute. Pretty flowers, pretty green bridesmaid dresses, and of course the beautiful bride! My whole family was invited and since my mom doesn't live far from them we went back to her house to sit on the a/c vents cool off until the reception. After feeling adequately refreshed we headed out to the reception. It was a beautiful banquet room and my brother, his wife, Mike, and I ended sitting up at a table with a girl I was pretty good friends with for almost my entire life. We grew up together and played soccer together forrrrreverrrr, but like most people lost touch after we graduated. It was so good to catch up with her and she lives close by so hopefully we keep in contact! We didn't stay too late, because after all, we do have a mini back at home that still wakes us up at night!
Both Friday and Saturday were late nights because I was trying to finish decorations and food for a surprise sprinkle that I was throwing at my house for my sister(-in-law) who is due August 2nd. (My other sister(-in-law) is due October 1st, how awesome is that?!?!) It is my fault that I am a huge procrastinator couldn't get things done earlier in the week, but thankfully Mike was a huge help. I skipped church this morning and started baking cupcakes at 8:00 but still was running around getting things together when people started showing up at 12:15 (30 min earlier than the invitation said I might add!!!). But everything came together and Raychal was surprised! We had a great lunch and had a good time celebrating this new life that will soon be joining our family!

We're getting used to rice cereal around here, so this is what most of my nights look like :)
